Dr. Guido Kamphuis

Guido Kamphuis studied Medicine at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (1998-2005) and completed his residency training in Urology (2007-2012) at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis and Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam.

He completed a fellowship in endourology at the Tenon Hospital, in Paris (February-April 2012) with Prof. Traxer. And a fellowship in endourology at the Klinik für Urologie Universitätsmedizin Mannheim (September-November 2012), with Prof. Michel.  He is working currently as staff member at the Amsterdam Universitair Medische Centra.

He has developed an interest and expertise in the surgical and medical management of urolithiasis and the endoscopic management of urothelial tumours in both lower and upper tract.

At the Amsterdam UMC endourology research group several studies have been done and are currently done on treatment and metaphylaxis of urolithiasis, endoscopic treatment of UTUC, the development and implementation of new technologies and all kind of different related topics.

For the treatment of urolithiasis and the optimalisation of the stone clinic he is working closely together with colleagues from nephrology. Besides this he is the medical manager of the clinical urology department.

Guido is an active member of several national and international research groups (SWEN, ESUT, PETRA, CoRE and SENN).
