Prof. Dr. Daniel Pérez-Fentes

Prof. Dr. Daniel Pérez-Fentes, MD, PhD, received his Medical Degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2002 and finished the Urology specialization in 2008. He completed his training at the Galdakao-Usansolo Hospital (Vizcaya, Spain), the Azienda Ospedaliera San Luigi di Orbassano (Turin, Italy) and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York, USA). Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) since 2011. Doctoral Thesis on the functional, systemic and quality of life effects of percutaneous nephrolithotomy in 2013.

Dr. Pérez-Fentes heads the Endourology Unit in the University Hospital Complex of Santiago de Compostela (Santiago de Compostela, Spain), in which he organizes several national and international endourology training workshops and courses every year. He is also an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela.

Dr. Pérez-Fentes lectures on endourology in international and national conferences, as well as performing live surgeries in numerous courses or congresses. Editor of the book entitled “Practical handbook on supine percutaneous nephrolithotomy”, his contributions include 30 chapters in urological books, 50 scientific papers and more than 100 communications in national and international congresses. He has directed 1 Doctoral Thesis regarding urinary stone management with another 3 ongoing.

Dr. Pérez-Fentes is a member of the European Association of Urology, the Société Internationale d’Urologie and the Spanish National Association of Urology. Member of the Galician Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery since 2016.
